We strive to make psychiatric care and psychotherapy accessible to all

We bring specialist services and technology to your clinic

PMPI is an innovative telehealth company with the goal of improving access to psychiatric medication management services and psychotherapy for all, regardless of age, gender, location, ethnicity, or social situation. We have 21 plus years of experience in telehealth practice, specializing in psychiatry, and a track record of providing excellent and quality care. With a year-over-year annual growth of 68%, we have assisted various partner sites in providing behavioral health services, including the Department of Mental Health, Critical Access Hospitals, Rural Health Clinics, American Indian Health Projects and Federally Qualified Health Centers all over.

By providing our services directly to clinics our approach aligns with studies that highlight the efficacy of integrating telehealth into traditional in-person medical systems, offering a more comprehensive and accessible approach to healthcare.

PMPI Headquarters

Our headquarters are located within the historic heart of downtown Bakersfield, at 1707 Eye Street, Suite 100, Bakersfield, CA 93301. You’ll find us housed in the iconic former building of The Bakersfield Californian newspaper, which has been a fixture in the community for decades.

Constructed in 1926, this building stands as a testament to Bakersfield’s rich architectural heritage and serves as a poignant reminder of the newspaper’s illustrious past. Under the leadership of esteemed publisher Alfred Harrell, who helmed the paper from 1897 until 1946, the Bakersfield Californian earned a reputation for its unwavering commitment to civic duty and community engagement. Recognizing its historical significance, the structure was duly recognized and added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 10, 1983. As occupants of this storied location, we honor its legacy while striving to build upon its tradition of excellence in service and dedication to our community.

Meet Our Founder

Two decades ago, Dr. Garewal embarked on a mission fueled by compassion and a drive for innovation. Witnessing the stark contrast in healthcare accessibility between rural and urban areas, he recognized the profound underservice and sought to make a difference. Understanding the hurdles faced by clinics in addressing these disparities, he envisioned the transformative potential of telehealth. Having undergone advanced training in his chief resident years in Kansas University Medical Center training he undertook Telehealth as an early solution to help underserved communities. Telehealth has evolved significantly over the years in terms of quality, scope, and adaptability. Under the direction of Dr. Garewal, PMPI has been at the forefront with its innovation and pioneering efforts in telehealth using EMR’s to ensure that individuals, regardless of their location, can access top-tier, specialized care. Dr. Garewal’s legacy is one of compassion, capability, and unwavering dedication to transforming healthcare for all.
